Beetle juice
I've been looking for ways to kill japanese beetle organically. Here's a blog post I found about organic pest control. I don't like bugs and they scare me, so there's no way I'm going to squish them with my fingers. Basically this is just dish soap and water. They die quickly and the scent they give off is suppose to deter other beetles from coming. It doesn't seem to be working for me though. Another blogger from Life on the Balcony forward me this article Giving Summer Pests the Brush Off. Unfortunately the beetle trap won't work for me because I'm suppose to put this beetle trap far away from my plants. Since I live in a condo, I'm not supposed to put anything in the common area. So I'm going to get the Espoma that is suppose to work for Japanese beetle. Wish me luck on this battle.
You !@#$%!#! beetle!!!!!!

First harvest
I didn't realize this zucchini has gotten so big. It was hidden at the back of the pot. This was grown from seed which I started indoors in April.

Here's the chilli pepper plant I bought from the nursery in May:

First harvest of the season:

Bees and Cosmos
This little guy kept hovering around the Cosmos plant. I just wish the japanese beetle can leave the Cosmos alone.
