New succulents

Went to Home Depot today to grab some stuff and saw they were selling a bunch of succulents including cactis. I bought my first sedum and really got into it because they're easy to maintain and does not seem to attract too many insects. August has been a busy month for me and it's tough to keep up with watering, the sedum has been growing exceptionally well despite the neglect. Fern from Life on the Balcony has gorgoeus succulents arrangments.

These plants weren't labeled so I don't know what they're called. Do you know the names of them? Any tips you can share regarding succulents care will be greatly appreciated!

  1. I love it! You did a great job Louise!

The first two are Echeverias, I don’t know what the third one is. The Echeveria with the reddish tint to its leaves might be ‘Peacock.’ I have a smaller version of the other one, but I can’t for the life of me remember the name.

The one thing I learned about Echeverias is that they are NOT full sun plants.

  2. Hi! I discovered your blog tonight and am interested to read it. I am a succulent lover as well. I was going to tell you about the echeverias, but I see Fern already did! LOL :)
I don’t have much success with sedum or echeverias, so I havent had too many…they like to perish on me here in south florida. Good luck with your new babies!

  3. Louise–Nice combination of succulents and I especially love the contrast with the blue pot. I am also writing b/c you had a questions on my blog re: the foliage only container and didn’t know if you’d go back to that entry to seek out my answer. That was an arrangement I pretty much dreamed up while at the nursery. It was just an experiment that went right–which doesn’t always happen! Anyway, glad you liked it. I’ll keep visiting your blog. Happy Gardening–Miriam
