I always thought they were all Christmas Cactus too, I guess it's pretty common.

Of course now I can stop wondering how to get mine to bloom at Christmas since I know it's not a Christmas Cactus.

Fern - they do look like butterflies. This plant looks very deceiving because when it's not in bloom it's just a normal spiky plant.

Wicked Gardener - this is actually my second one. My first one didn't do well because I had it at a low light area and I think they do better near the window.

Jen - Thanks! I guess I'm just lucky because I seriously don't do much to it. When I bought it from Walmart it was in full bloom. I guess it had a good start.

Sara - You know what... for all this time I thought I had a christmas cactus. Now I know to call it Thanksgiving cactus or Halloween cactus. :-)

I've been wondering why my Christmas cactus blooms so early - and then I realized today that it was a Thanksgiving cactus - I think yours is too.

I didn't even know there was such a thing until today.

Yours is beautiful.
