Last-frost date
Over here in New York we're supposed to be getting another 8 inches of snow by Monday. I hope this is the last snowstorm of the season because I'm having a little cabin fever here. I'm so done with the cold weather! I should be used to this kind of weather because I lived in Canada for about 10 years, but ever since I picked up the hobby of gardening I dread the winter season.
I was excited to see this month's issue of Organic Gardening because it talks about everything from starting seeds to a recipe for a spring salad. I found a useful calendar that talks about the perfect time to plant your favorite crops and when you should start with seeds or plants. To find out what the average last-frost date for your area, you can go to National Climatic Data Center and download the detailed frost date.
