Cherry Blossom at Brooklyn Botanic Garden

It's been a while! I wonder how many of you are still reading this blog but I haven't forgotten about it.  It has been a long year and I had to deal with some health issues.  However I'm back stronger and healthier than ever! The planting season has started again.  I'm planning on going easy this year as our apartment complex is doing some construction work on all the decks.  Our deck is in pretty bad condition and I hope to either have them re-stain it or take it down and build a new one depending on costs.  We would need to move everything off the deck while they do the construction, so I will probably just do one or two plants in addition to a few perennials that I already have.

Here are some pictures I took at the annual Cherry Blossom Festival at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.  The weather was perfect and I was able to take a lot of pictures.

  1. We haven’t been to the cherry blossom festival there yet — it’s a five-plus hour drive for us (plus at least one night at a hotel) so we usually travel later in the season and visit after the roses start blooming in earnest. We’ve heard so much about it this year (I was just there for two rose events), we’re going to try for it next year.

Your pictures are awesome — I just wish your water mark was a wee bit smaller. It really makes looking and enjoying them a bit hard to do. Maybe you could try a smaller one down along the bottom edge?

    • Hi Cathy,
It was my first time going to the brooklyn cherry blossom festival. It’s beautiful there but try to visit during the week when it’s less crowded. Thanks for your nice comment and suggestion about the watermark and I will consider moving it so it’s not in the way. Thanks for visiting my blog!
